Community strengthening

For local communities to be protagonists and co-responsible for the conservation of wetlands, we maintain a close relationship with them and provide them with tools and knowledge that facilitate their communication with other sectors- with the three levels of government, businessmen or users-, so that they will participate in the analysis and decision making regarding the natural resources of their territory and promote the development of sustainable productive activities. For this, we work in four areas:

Community participation

Through public consultations, elaboration, social appropriation and implementation of plans, programs and regulations for the conservation of wetlands; complaints and monitoring of the process of environmental infractions and crimes in wetlands.

Environmental committees

In conservation actions such as cleaning brigades, waste collection centers, community monitoring, environmental monitoring, training, action plans, sustainable productive activities, training in the various wetlands.

.

Community Training

Using different tools, we train people and organized groups to effectively participate in the conservation of their wetlands, through courses, talks, conferences and workshops.

Access to information

We facilitate access to information that allows individuals, organized groups and institutions to participate effectively in the conservation of their wetlands, through the studies, scientific articles, manifestos of environmental impact, permits and authorizations, programs, plans, arrangements, laws and regulations.

Environmental education

For us it is essential that communities know the importance of wetlands, the relationship they have with their environment and how they influence the quality of life: we dedicate a large part of our efforts to environmental education, generating educational materials and activities that We share in talks, workshops and public events organized by government institutions, companies or other social organizations.

Educational activities

Our educational activities include talks, workshops, field trips, participation in public events.

Preparation of Educational Materials

We generate educational materials with the purpose of supporting environmental teachers and educators, as well as the general public, in order to disseminate knowledge about the wetlands of the region.

Environmental Education Projects

We have carried out environmental education programs with schools and youth groups in the communities near the wetlands.
