With the efforts made in this line, we support the authorities of the three levels of government by analyzing and proposing the most feasible mechanisms to conserve the wetlands of northwest Mexico. This is achieved through the rational use of these and the establishment of new protected natural areas and Ramsar sites.

The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) – called the Ramsar Convention – is an intergovernmental treaty that serves as a framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.

Ramsar Information Sheet for Bahia Magdalena 

 We made the documentation to meet the requirements of the Ramsar Information Sheet for Bahia Magdalena to be decreed as a RAMSAR Site. The documentation is in the offices of the official unit.   

Preliminary Study Justification for the establishment of the protected Natural Area in the Lagoon complex, San Quintín (2009)

Through the work of the Coalition formed by Pro Esteros and other organizations such as Terra Peninsular, AC, Pronatura, AC and The Nature Conservancy, is that, culminating the work of 6 years established as a coalition, the Preliminary Study Justification to decreed San Quintin as a Biosphere Reserve was given to CONANP. A polygon that encompasses not only the part of the wetlands of the Bay, which were also decreed as RAMSAR Site (among other designations), but includes a very good area with coastal bush in good condition that is the last conserved spot of The Mediterranean area. The Coalition expects it to be very soon when the Decree Notice comes out, meanwhile, as Coalition we continue to work and implement our Environmental Education and Conservation program in the wetland area.

Ramsar Conservation and Management Plan, Laguna Hanson (2010)

The project to develop the Ramsar wetland conservation and management program for Laguna Hanson, was aimed at helping to achieve the objectives of the conservation and management program of the Protected Natural Area (PNA), Emphasizing on three components of wetland management: conservation and management, regulation of public use and environmental education.

The Conservation and Management Program for the Ramsar Site, Laguna Hanson, was developed as an instrument to reach the conservation objectives of this wetland of international importance. In addition to supporting compliance with the objectives of the conservation and management program of the PNA, National Park Constitution of 1857 (NPC of 1857), emphasizing on five main management components: Zoning, conservation, regulation of public use, environmental education and signaling.

Based on the results obtained in the diagnostic-prognosis section and the objectives set, management strategies and specific actions were established to conserve, restore and regulate public use in the wetland. To achieve its objectives, the program has five management strategies: zoning, conservation, regulation of public use, environmental education and signaling. In addition, strategic actions were proposed, whose purpose is to ensure the creation, development and operation of each of the specific actions contained in the five management strategies. Each program had lines of action and specific activities that ensure the maintenance of ecological processes and ecosystem services provided by the ecosystem. Finally, a section called Instrumental Level was elaborated, describing the legal, administrative, economic and social participation instruments that ensure the operation and implementation of the program. Also, a model of indicators for the evaluation of the actions and goals was developed in the section Strategic Level.

Public Consultation Workshops for the Management Program of the Area of Protected Flora and Fauna, Cabo San Lucas (2012)

Under the Concertation Agreement DR01/APFF01/PROMAANP/003/2012, We carry out the activities necessary and conducive to the Public Consultation Workshops, the review of the previous exercises carried out, aimed at establishing a zoning, together with the corresponding authorities; The members of the Area Advisory Council seeking consensus for a zoning proposal.

At the same time all the actor involved whit the protected flora and fauna area were identified, to carry out 4 Workshops of Public Consultation, and at the end of these events we were able to have a document that indicated the zoning of the area, as well as the applicable guidelines and policies for each zone and / or subarea; Achieving the consensus of all the actors with respect to the Management program.
