In order to achieve our mission, it is essential to have the necessary information on the wetlands of the region, which is collected or generated in order to support and direct the strategies of management, environmental education and community strengthening, through which we will achieve conservation of the Ecological processes, as well as the integral management, of the wetlands of the northwest of Mexico.
At Pro Esteros, we dedicate much of our efforts to integrating or generating relevant information on wetlands in the region and their ecological processes with the aim of using this knowledge in conservation instruments.
Our actions include:
Monitoring Program Least Tern (Sternula antillarum), in the de Punta Banda estuary.
The least tern (Sternula Antillarum) is a species that belongs to the family of the seagulls, and every year it migrates from Central America to the coasts of northwestern Mexico, including the Peninsula of Baja California.
