Objective
Facilitate the development and appropriation of a community development plan for the Kumiai community of San José de la Zorra.
Activities
Participatory planning techniques (interviews and work meetings) were used to construct the plans, where the members of the community themselves defined the priority topics, as well as strategies and actions to achieve their development goals.
The Pro Esteros civil association acts as a facilitator and adviser of the community to follow up on the their development program, respecting at all times their autonomy and collective decisions, assuming at all times that the main responsible for the development of the community of “San José de la Zorra” are its inhabitants.
Project description:
Two participatory development plans were built in cooperation with the community of San José de la Zorra, Ensenada, Baja California:
1.- Comprehensive Community Development Plan, which establishes collective actions to meet the main social, environmental and productive needs within a framework of environmental sustainability.
2.- Sector Plan for the Development of Productive Activities, which establishes collective actions to implement and develop existing and potential productive activities, within a framework of environmental sustainability.
Se busca impulsar el desarrollo de la comunidad indígena, bajo un esquema que refleje y potencialice su riqueza natural y cultural, generando una derrama económica hacia todas las familias de la comunidad, en un marco de manejo integral de los recursos naturales y de sustentabilidad ambiental.
It seeks to promote the development of the indigenous community, under a scheme that reflects and enhances their natural and cultural wealth, generating an economic spill to all families in the community, within a framework of integrated management of natural resources and environmental sustainability.
The community of San José de la Zorra has valuable natural and cultural resources, which can be used sustainably to achieve its development, in complete harmony with nature. To do this, they have to attend to environmental, economic and social problems, as well as strengthen the community, under a scheme of unity and social cohesion.
